Purpose Statement - As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit,we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.
Sewing quilts for Lutheran World Relief is one of the most rewarding of the many activities available to the women of Emmanuel. While serving God's less fortunate children locally and through the world through the work of our hands, we also enjoy the fellowship of our sisters in Christ as we meet each Tuesday in the Community Room at church. All levels of sewing experience are welcome--from cutting fabric to finishing a quilt.
The quilts are displayed once a year in the Sanctuary before being shipped overseas.
